The Currency Conference 2023: An event that took 6 years in the making…
Fast forward to January 2023, the event organizer realized that some aspects of the agenda did not benefit the business model of their conference and that an update was very much needed, which, among many other things, presented us with our first challenge the event growing from 350 to 500 people and two completely new off-site dinners. So, this meant that, at the earliest possible opportunity our team mobilized to re-secure the spaces that we previously had while searching for alternatives that would fit the new requirements.

When we first got in touch with our client, we immediately clicked and knew that together we would create an amazing experience, it was far back in 2018 when we helped them visit venues and hotels as well as to experience the highlights of Mexico so their meeting planning team could select the very best for their high-profile attendees. And later on, it was on March 2020 when we finally started working on contracts almost at the same time that the World was totally paralyzed, so inevitably we had to negotiate a change of dates and rates.

We faced two challenges, the first one was that the spaces that were a good fit looked a bit similar, so we had to propose very diverse concepts that ended up being completely different experiences for each night. However, despite the various discussions that this involved, the first night was a converted into a truly Mexican night as a result, where some of the traditional characters with a twist interacted with the clients throughout the night, small performances took place in the main scenario that blew the mind of the attendees.

The show received a standing ovation for more than a couple of minutes.
The second challenge was the budget, with two new off-site dinners and 150 additional people, every dollar that we could save made an enormous difference. But it is in situations like these that the advantages of supporting the planning of your event with a local DMC stand out, our relationships with our trusted friends and providers meant savings of over $5,000.00.
In the words of the attendees, this was one of the best conferences, so much so that they were euphoric to hear about our client's future plans for the next editions. In fact, there were a few laughs about how hard it was going to be to match the Mexico program.
