TRADITIONS OF MEXICO

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of Mexico

For Mexicans, December 12 is one of the most significant days of the year, since we celebrate the apparition of the Virgin Mary to the Indian Juan Diego in the year of 1531; a few years after the Conquest of Mexico.

The Morenita del Tepeyac, as we filially call her in our Mexican nation, commissioned Juan Diego to build a temple in her name and, in order for the Bishop to believe her, she left an image of herself printed on the tilma worn by the "smallest of her children", current Mexican Saint.

The divine image is considered a miracle, since it has not suffered any corruption as it is embodied in a perishable material, impressing believing and non-believing scientists, for all the discoveries, physical and symbolic present in each part of the ayate.  Without forgetting that she is and has been venerated throughout America and in the rest of the Catholic world, the number of miracles that occurred thanks to her intercession and filial tenderness is undeniable.

On this date we also remember the message that the Virgin Morena gave to the Indian Juan Diego more than 500 years ago, words that today, by the end of the year 2021, are still fully valid: "Am I not here, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not your fountain of life? Are you not in the folds of my mantle? In the crossing of my arms? Is there anything else you need?”

"The Virgin of Guadalupe is venerated throughout America and in the rest of the Catholic world."
"The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is the most visited Catholic temple in the world."

The Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe is the most visited Catholic temple in the world as it welcomes around 20 million pilgrims per year, more so than Vatican City.

We are one of the foremost authorities in this kind of travel in Mexico, handling pilgrimages and religious travel all around the country for over 30 years.

We trully expect that you will come to celebrate with Us this year!
