DMS Mexico Chronicles

Living through the beauties of Mexico: Mexico City Chapter.

Internationally speaking, Mexico is one of the best destinations to have a group experience trip, since it has a unique load in the world of folklore, culture, history, festivities and countless other aspects that will make the experience of visiting Mexican lands unforgettable no matter what your company's line of business is or what you do in your professional life.

However, it is difficult to describe in words how fascinating it is to spend time visiting Mexico, since it is one of those experiences that are not understood until they are lived, and therefore, the Colombian paint company "Pintuco", through the recognized agency Aviatur, contacted DMS México so that we could make sure that their incentive was indeed an unrivaled experience.

"It was finally time to have "a little taste" of the beauties that Mexico City has available only for those who are willing to discover them.."

During the first day of activities with the group, after a morning and afternoon of conferences and trainings at the Hilton Mexico City Reforma hotel, it was finally time to have "a little taste" of the beauties that Mexico City has available only for those who are willing to discover them.

"The Folkloric Ballet of Amalia Hernandez without a doubt it is a perfect show to fall in love with Mexico!

Our first stop was the legendary and world-renowned Fine Arts Palace which contains what is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and important theaters in the country. There, we enjoyed the famous performance of the Folkloric Ballet of Amalia Hernandez, in which, through the steps of their professional dancers, we had a sample of some of the most popular traditional dances in different regions of the country, accompanied by the visual spectacle of seeing the typical costumes of each region accompanied by their respective traditional music 100% live, without a doubt it is a perfect show to fall in love with Mexico!

And to end the night, we enjoyed a gourmet dinner on the 41st floor of the incredible and emblematic "Latin-American Tower", where, undoubtedly, we came across a tasty experience of height!

For our next day, we lived a totally immersive adventure of life in Mexico City and its corners, at noon, we enjoyed a guided tour in which we learned more about the most important sites of the Historic Center while walking through the most popular streets of the area.

And after we had worked up an appetite with an enriching walk, it was time for lunch, which could not be out of place with the mood we had acquired during the tour of the Historic Center. Therefore, we had our meals at the historic cantina "La Opera", accompanied by the live bohemian music of a trio and... a soprano! Who garnished our experience by singing some songs for us and telling us part of the history of the place along with the revolutionary general himself... Pancho Villa!

Afterwards, we closed the day with a sightseeing tour aboard 2 panoramic buses that took us to visit the most iconic points of Mexico City, such as the Angel of Independence and the Monument of the Revolution. And besides, this beautiful visual spectacle was sweetened by the taste of some delicious churros that we enjoyed along the tour, and so, while we delighted our eyes and intellect listening to the explanations of our guides about what we were seeing, our taste buds were equally delighted with the traditional Mexican flavors.

"We enjoyed a guided tour in which we learned more about the most important sites of the Historic Center.

Finally, we closed the day with dinner at the famous “Villa Maria” restaurant, where, to the sound of live mariachi music, we enjoyed the flavors of traditional Mexican cuisine accompanied by margaritas of the size of our excitement at enjoying the wonders of Mexico.

"At more than 1313ft high we welcomed the sunrise and views of the archaeological site of Teotihuacan worthy of being portrayed in the infinity of our memories".

The next day, we would experience a visit to Teotihuacan like no other, for this we moved to the early hours of the day to the municipality of San Juan Teotihuacan, where another colorful surprise awaited for us in a recognized “hot air ballon port”, because... we were about to ride in a hot air balloon!

After enjoying the spectacle of the mounting and inflation of the balloons, it was time to leave the ground... at more than 1313ft high we welcomed the sunrise and views of the archaeological site of Teotihuacan worthy of being portrayed in the infinity of our memories.

Once landing and passing the traditional toast with the captain of our balloon for a successful flight, it was time for breakfast to recharge our batteries, for which, we moved to the famous restaurant "Gran Teocalli", where besides being welcomed by some delicious local flavors, we were surprised by a brief welcome number by some pre-Hispanic dancers.

And because a glimpse through the heights is not enough to fully recognize the grandeur of the archaeological site of Teotihuacan, we took the opportunity to have a guided tour of each of the most important corners of the first site in our country to be declared a World Heritage treasure by UNESCO in 1987. And, after stimulating our appetite with such a fascinating walk, it was time for lunch, for this, the renowned pre-Hispanic flavors of the restaurant "La Gruta" were waiting for us to satisfy our hunger and also refresh us with some delicious tejuino mezcalitas.

Afterwards, we returned to Mexico City just in time to visit the important religious complex of "The Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe", where we were able to understand and learn more about the relevance of the image of our Lady of Guadalupe in the life of the Mexicans and in the Latin American culture in general. And in this way, we closed our journey through part of the beauties that Mexico City has to offer, being this our last adventure in the area.

Finally, we returned to our hotel to enjoy the night off and to repack our bags, since the next day we would leave for another brief but fascinating (and very full of flavor) adventure in the historic State of Puebla.
