1. The Heart of the City (Half Day)

This morning we will go through Reforma, the main artery of the city while your guide tells you the story and show you the most significant monuments, including the icon of the city, the angel of Independence. You will arrive at the Palace of Fine Arts, the best example of Deco art in the country and that is the temporary home of some of the most important artists in the world when they visit Mexico.
Continue to the Plaza de la Constitución, better known as Zócalo. Here, find some of the city's most important architectural treasures, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the largest in the continent, which has made it sink more. The National Palace, the official office of the President and one of the first buildings built during the times of the conquest and of course, the major temple, the ruins of the Aztec metropolis that were buried beneath the great colonial city.

2. City Museum (Half Day)

Start your day visiting the most important museums of the country, first, the National Museum of Anthropology and history that safeguards some of the most impressive pieces from the pre-Hispanic past to the ethnic groups of today. Among his permanent collection is the famous "Aztec Calendar" which is neither Aztec nor calendar, find out why.
Cross the Reforma Avenue and enjoy a gentle hike through the Chapultepec Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world where Chapultepec Castle is the only true American castle. Here you will learn not only the history of Mexico, but also enjoy a unique view of the city.
Note: Museums are closed to the public on Monday.

3. . The City of the Gods (Teotihuacán) (Full Day)

Leave your hotel in the morning to travel about 48 km outside Mexico City to visit Teotihuacán, better known as the city where men become gods like the Mexica or Aztecs used to think. It was such an impression of the Aztecs by these mysterious ruins that they were inspired to build Tenochtitlan, its capital that rests beneath the current historic center of the capital.
After the guided tour of this city, which at the time was the most important human settlement in the region, enjoy the best views of the place and climb up the largest constructions of this site declared World Heritage by UNESCO, the Pyramids of the sun and of the moon.
At the end, enjoy a delicious buffet meal at a local restaurant where you can also enjoy pre-Hispanic dances and songs.

4. Mexican colors - South of the city (Full Day)

This morning we will go to Coyoacan, a small traditional Mexican town absorbed by the huge city. With the vivid colors of its mansions, flowers and bohemian soul, this oasis has been home to some of the country's most prominent artists and thinkers such as Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. You will visit the market and main square and even have a coffee in one of its picturesque cafes.
Then we will go to the Dolores Olmedo Museum, a hidden gem of the city, one of the museums that houses the art collection of the intimate friend of Diego Rivera, among which are many original works of the couple.
We could even see their curious inhabitants, beautiful peacocks and xoloitzcuintles.
At the end we will travel to Xochimilco, this place known as the Floating Gardens of Mexico, is in fact an archaeological site that is still inhabited by people who live on the banks of the canals and who continue to hold the flowers and vegetables that grow in the " Chinampas ". This site built by pre-Hispanic locals is one of the most important agricultural inventions in history.
Enjoy a traditional Mexican lunch aboard a trajinera, these colorful wooden boats glide smoothly between the canals that are usually named after a female name.
On Monday, the Dolores Olmedo Museum is closed, so we substitute this visit for a brief stop on the campus of the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this place was built and decorated by some of the most important figures of the Mexican art and architecture of the twentieth century.

5. The Way of Sor Juana (Full Day)

October 3

Today we will follow part of the road that Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz walked throughout during her life in Mexico in the 17th century.
Our first visit will be in the state of Mexico, in the place that saw her grow untill she was 8 years old. In this visit we will see several portraits of who is known today as the tenth Muse. We will see several interesting spaces, for example, those where she learned to read, in secret and against all the rules of her time.
At the end of our visit, we will continue to a small cultural center that serves the community. Here we will appreciate the remains of another house where she lived.
We will travel back to Mexico City to reach the historic center, where we will visit the convent where Sor Juana lived for more than 20 years, but before touring this place whose walls keep thousands of secrets, we will have a meal in the restaurant run by Students from a local Gastronomy School, that was installed in what once was the convent.

1) REQUIREMENT FOR TRAVEL:

For the realization of the trip it is required the participation of at least 30 people.

4) RETURN AND REFUND POLICY:

In case of cancellation will apply the following tabulation:

  • More than 30 days at the departure of the group proceeds a refund of 100% minus the administrative charges.

  • From 30 to 15 calendar days prior to the departure of the group, it will cause a 50% penalty on the total cost of the trip plus the administrative expenses.

  • Cancellations prior to 15 days at the departure of the group will lose 100% of your deposit.

  • It shall be taken as the date of cancellation of the trip to the one on which the notification was received.
