San Miguel de Allende

In the heart of the State of Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende is not only rich in history and culture, but it is also home of a large community of American and Canadian nationals, many of which are artists. Facts about San Miguel de Allende:

  • Named World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008 it played a crucial part in Mexican Independence from 1808. In fact, it is less than an hour away from the place where Mexican Independence was proclaimed in September 16th, 1810.
  • It has the most beautiful Gothic temple in the country.
  • It is within driving distance of another 2 World Heritage Sites: Querétaro and Guanajuato.
  • The weather stays very much constant and very comfortable througout the year, with the lows in the 50's and Highs in the Mid 80's and a rainy season between June and September. of up to 6 inches of rain.
  • This area is very rich in Indigenous communities, such as the Chichimecas and the Hña-Hñu.
  • With a brand new Rosewood Resort (opening early 2011) and a new golf course by Nick Faldo (Las Ventanas), this destination just became ideal for small conventions, meetings and incentives.
